I think the thing that really gets to me about Hans is his brilliance. His split-second thinking when he uses the chandelier and the arrow to knock Elsa out, the way he uses his good looks to his advantage, the way he works to gain an entire kingdom’s trust (never once letting his true self show), and the way he immediately centers on the easiest person to manipulate all strike me as things that require copious amounts of intelligence. It also makes me think that his intelligence has led him to be misunderstood and alienated since birth; which explains the desperation for power/attention.
